Dr. Onanuga started New Age Behavioral Health in 2014 after seeing a need for accessible outpatient mental health care in the DFW area. New Age Behavioral Health is a private mental health clinic dedicated to the provision of psychiatric and psychological management for patients.

Our mission is to provide excellent evidence-based and patient-centered mental health services to adolescent and adult patients. We welcome referral from practitioners, specialists, social workers, family members and patients themselves.

We are dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their mental health needs and achieve personal growth through effective treatment and compassionate care.

Omotayo Onanuga, MD PA

Dr. Onanuga is the Medical Director of New Age Behavioral Health (also known as Amicable Psychiatry MD, PA). After graduating with an MD degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Nigeria, he practiced General Medicine in Nigeria. He then moved to New York for his Psychiatric Residency Program with Columbia University at Harlem Hospital Center. He also did a fellowship program in Geriatric Psychiatry at the State University of New York (SUNY) at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn.

After his residency program, he worked in many sectors in the field of psychiatry. Dr. Onanuga was an Attending and Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry (2007 to 2014) in the Columbia University program at Harlem Hospital Center in New York. Here, he engaged in the teaching of psychiatry and in evidence-based evaluation and treatment of individuals with mental illnesses.

With his relocation to Texas, Dr. Onanuga continues to be involved in the care of mental illness. Though he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, he is also involved in the management of other mental health disorders. These include childhood & adolescent disorders like ADHD & ADD, cognitive disorders with behavioral disturbances, substance abuse disorders, and dual diagnosis disorders.

Dr. Onanuga is double board certified in Adult Psychiatry & Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association. He is happily married and is blessed with three children.

Olanrewaju Peter Olayemi, PMHNP

Peter Olayemi is our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner. He is dedicated to promoting health and meeting the mental health care needs of each his patients.
